The Blend
For Young (At Heart) Adults
Next up: The Blend and the Book Club are co-sponsoring a new discussion topic centered around Jim Wallis' new book The Great Awakening: Reviving Faith and Politics in a Post-Religious Right America. Everyone is invited to join the conversation every other Friday night at ChocoLaté at 7pm, continuing on February 22nd. We will be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Fridays. Also, as part of a national campaign to get Wallis' book on the best seller list, we ask that you purchase the book as soon as possible. |
"The Blend" is a discussion group for young adults (and those young at heart) where we talk about a wide range of topics, from pop culture to politics and how they are influenced by modern Christianity.
In the recent past we have had lively discussions about the Gospel According to The Matrix and The Gospel According to the Simpsons.
We watched Spike Lee's When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Parts and dicussed the documentary.
We've also read and discussed topics from the "We Believe" series on Hypocracy and material from Sojourners Magazine on Christians & Politics.
